VI NGUYEN, SOFTWARE ENGINEER AND FORMER INTERN
FAQ
At Square, we have a variety of entry-level roles across the company. These openings are posted on our Careers page as they become available.
Our current university recruiting programme hires new and recent graduates of colleges and bootcamps for internships and full-time roles in software engineering. Occasionally, we also have roles available in product design, data science, hardware and business.
The majority of roles are for software engineering. We have a handful of roles in product design, data science, hardware or business. Hiring needs vary each year and we post these roles as they become available.
Our recruiting season starts in early fall for roles beginning the following year. We hire on a rolling basis until roles are filled.
For software engineering, we aim to extend return full-time offers to interns who perform well, depending on their respective graduation time frame. For roles other than software engineering (examples: data science, business, hardware and product design), we extend return full-time offers on a case-by-case basis, pending the team’s hiring needs and full-time position availability.
Internships and roles for new graduates are generally available in San Francisco, New York City, Atlanta, Seattle and Kitchener-Waterloo (Canada).
Where possible, we want employees to be able to work where they feel most creative and productive. On our Jobs page, you can see if a role is open for remote work or designated to a specific office location.
For software engineering interns who perform well during their internship, we aim to extend return full-time offers depending on their respective graduation time frame. For roles outside software engineering (examples: data science, business, hardware and product design), we extend return full-time offers, depending on the team’s hiring needs and full-time position availability, on a case-by-case basis.
